Rev. Thomas J. Plumbley, Senior Minister - Tom is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Texas Christian University, with a B.A. in political science and religion. His Master of Divinity degree is from Vanderbilt where he also spent a year at the Law School. Tom and his wife, Patty came to First Christian Church in 2001. They have two sons and one grandson. Dr. Ted Klein, Associate Minister. Ted is a graduate of TCU with a B.A. in Religion. He has an M.Div degree from Yale Divinity School and a Ph.d from Rice University in Philosophy. He retired after 38 years as a philosophy professor at TCU and is Emeritus Professor. He served as student minister in several churches as a TCU undergraduate and while at Yale. He grew up at First Christian Church and was ordained at University Christian Church in 1958. Ted and his wife, Wini, have three children and four grandchildren.

Charles Duke, Senior Minister of Music - Charles received a degree in music from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in music from Texas Christian University. He has faithfully served First Christian Church for over 35 years. He is known throughout the city, and even the country, for his choirs, both at Castleberry High School, where he taught for many years, and at First Christian Church.

Christy Suggs, Youth Minister. Christy is a native of Alvin, Texas, and is now a student at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth. She is an active, creative and well-liked worker with our youth.

Peggy Grogan, Office Administrator - Peggy has been at First Christian Church since 1999. She is a fourth generation Disciple of Christ. She has worked in the past in the oil and gas business, construction and legal offices. She has two sons, a daughter and eight grandchildren. Roberta Williams, Church Bookkeeper – Robbie is a CPA and has her B.B.A degree from Hardin Simmons University in Business Management. She has worked with several churches and individuals with their bookkeeping and financial records. Robbie and her husband, Mike, and their three children live in Aledo. Robbie is at the church on Mondays and Fridays.

Jan Shelton, Director of Youth and Children’s Choirs - Jan completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Wesleyan University in music and her Master’s degree at Texas Christian University in music. She is also employed by the Fort Worth Independent School District as a music teacher. She is married to Mickey Shelton, an architect.

Mary Mason, Burnside Handbell Choir Director – Mary completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Wesleyan University. She has two sons who attend school in Mansfield.

George Clemons, Maintenance Manager – George has been at First Christian Church since 1999, and has received compliments from many outside the church as well as from church members for his care of the building and grounds. Some say his middle name should be “no problem” since that is his usual response for any request. He has worked in nursing homes in the past, and barbeques turkeys for his whole neighborhood at Thanksgiving. He has a wife, Ruth, and several children and grandchildren.
